A German architect based out of Beijing and Hong Kong has proposed a stunning new building for downtown Vancouver. Located at 1500 West Georgia St., the proposed developed would top 152 metres and features a three dimensional, multi-frontal building that kind of looks like a large Jenga game in process. Awesome in our books!
1500 West Georgia is Bosa Properties’ most ambitious project to date in terms of style, and will aim for a LEED Platinum certification with features that include roof solar panels. The height of the proposal follows the the City’s West End Community Plan and is currently in the pre-application phase and the design could be rejected following critique from the City’s Urban Design Panel.
The building proposes 235 units in the heart of the Coal Harbour neighbourhood, overlooking Stanley Park and the North Shore. The outcroppings would act as terraces or decks, allowing residents to maximize the stunning, panoramic views of the city, parks and breathtaking waterfront. A green space with pools and waterfalls would also be built at the bottom of the tower.
Who ever says Vancouver can’t have fun and isn’t out there when it comes to pushing the envelop obviously needs to try and topple their view. We say Jenga away!
