Hopefully by the end of next year, Vancouver will be set to open an absolutely drool-worthy major new development in the Downtown core.
Construction is currently underway on the $600-million Parq Vancouver entertainment resort beside BC Place, which will house the new Edgewater Casino and B.C’s first luxury JW Marriott hotel. Parq Vancouver will also have 62,000 square feet of meeting, conference and special event space, including the city’s largest ballroom.
Recently The Economist called Vancouver “boring” for being too safe and user friendly. And that although Vancouver does offer one of the highest standards of living in the world, that we lack scary neighbourhoods that someone would fear walking into during certain times of the day. Vancouver’s currently erecting Parq as part of a new entertainment district for downtown Vancouver, another beautiful enclave where people can mingle and have fun, and be “boring” all day and all night.
Here’s to being “boring” in the eyes of The Economist. 😉
